Well it was an adventure but the selling of the Tarot Cards looks like to hit the smooth sailing part of the tour. I got sick and tired of dealing and trying to fix all the bugs in my webstore and now I’m selling off of Etsy now, but you can still access my store, just when you click on the BUY button you go to Etsy instead of my store. Understand? Excellent.

Once again I have been utterly amazed by the response to the Sideshow Tarot decks. Last time I sold some they sold like mad. I figured that was probably almost all the people who wanted them save a few. I would sell a few more on line and then have a nice batch of stock for cons. I was wrong. I put up 20 more decks and sold out in a day. Crazy. I still have more decks to sell though, but with my lack of decent organization skills and ADHD. I figure sell in small batches so I shan’t f*ck things up.

New print run is all printed up and ready for packaging. The product looks awesome, I may have actually found a printer I like. Elvis be praised. Now to finish getting the new shop settings set up (I added all the other countries so now ANYONE can order cards) and we be jammin’!

Printing FAIL!

So the plan was that after Calgary Expo, I would take my remaining stock of Tarot Cards and sell em up at my online shop. Well Good news was that I sold out of my cards at the Expo. Bad news was that I had no product to sell on my site. So that meant I had to reprint my cards. For those of you who don’t know, my history with printers and printing has been a sad sad affair. This last time was certainly no exception but after some complaining about the terrible service (although excellent product) I got a decent deal and I decided to give them another shot. Well my history of printing issues is at least consistent. The issue this time was that in a large chunk of the cards, the dark reds decided to print out a vibrant shade of magenta. While a nice colour, it was fairly drastic a difference as to what I wanted. I contacted the printers and he offered to print me fixes and it’d be ready in a few days. Well yesterday was the few days it was supposed to be finished by and I called this morning to be told that the card stock I used was stuck in Edmonton, then a few hours later I got a call back and that now my card stock is stuck in Golden and that it’ll probably be a week before it arrives. Once, Just once I would like a printing job to go smooth and without fuckery. But barring disaster, next week cards will be done/boxed/packaged and ready for shipping.

So with 4 days till the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo all my attention has been focused on that. But for those of you eagerly anticipating the official release of Sideshow Tarot decks being sold on the website, your wait is almost at an end. I got almost everything ready to go and I am going to officially call May 1st 2010 the grand opening of the mercantile. Been to the post office and prices are WAY WAY WAY better than ups style shipping, so it looks like all I can do is send out stuff standard mail for the foreseeable future but on the bright side it may be cost effective to ship outside North America.

That is all.

You know, unless you’re in Calgary and wanna just come down and buy a deck in person. I’ll be in artist alley at table d15.

Calgary Expo art book shenanigans

So once again the Calgary Expo is coming up and for the second time I am submitting a drawing for their commemerative art book. Well to start with I did a drawing up and almost instantly I was not happy with it. I redrew the girl in the main part of the drawing and was happier with it, THEN the drawing they posted for advertising the book had a very similar look to the girl in my submission. So as I am wont to do, I have for the third time drawn a new submission. thankfully the deadline isn’t until the end of Feb so I have to to waffle. Rules are that submissions are not supposed to be shown before hand but no rules against showing the one that I ain’t submitting.
