So this weekend is the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo. As usual I will be down there, hocking my wares to any passer-bys. If your in the region, come on down and say Howdy. I will be situated at table F13 in the Artists Alley.

And now for some art work
Recently the facebook page Bring Back Firefly decided to have a fanart contest. (If you’re in the neighbourhood click on the link and add your “like” to the drawing and help me win) The rules were basically create a original character with focus on the browncoat (The coat itself, not the fans or alternative names of the Independents). Since the show is all about the old and new fusion, I decided on a Victorian style fashion advert for a more trendy upscale version that some company would obviously produce in order to cash in on the romantic ideal of rebel bad boys.

And some more Fan art. This wasn’t for anything special, save my own amusement. I’ve always been a G.I. Joe fan. I had almost all the toys when I was young (recently I’ve gotten back into the habit though). I had the urge to draw something Joe related. Since everyone loves the Baroness, that’s where I went. Of course far be it from me to NOT make it something funny and retro looking. I really should try something else once in awhile. But here’s the Baroness in the annual Cobra Calender.

Firefly: The Pulp Novel

At a recent Convention here in Calgary, Myself and my friend Mike had tables in Artists alley. Over all the con was made entirely of FAIL! It was really quiet and sales were sad. But because I had the time I drew some Firefly fan art. Well I finally got around to throwing colour at it.

Like everybody else in the world, I am a huge Firefly fan. One of the things I loved most was the western aspect of the series. Sitting on my shelves are tons of old Ace western novels and I wanted top mock up a cover like those.

Figured it was time for a quick update.

The Sideshow Tarot decks are officially sold out again. There will be another printing but probably not for a month or so. Technically I have a few decks left but this coming weekend I’ll be at Con-Version, (Calgary’s longest running Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Convention.) and I would like a few for the con. If you get a chance come down and say hi.

I have a few ideas I’m banging around for new Tarot but I am still working on getting my graphic novel finished first.

Well it was an adventure but the selling of the Tarot Cards looks like to hit the smooth sailing part of the tour. I got sick and tired of dealing and trying to fix all the bugs in my webstore and now I’m selling off of Etsy now, but you can still access my store, just when you click on the BUY button you go to Etsy instead of my store. Understand? Excellent.

Once again I have been utterly amazed by the response to the Sideshow Tarot decks. Last time I sold some they sold like mad. I figured that was probably almost all the people who wanted them save a few. I would sell a few more on line and then have a nice batch of stock for cons. I was wrong. I put up 20 more decks and sold out in a day. Crazy. I still have more decks to sell though, but with my lack of decent organization skills and ADHD. I figure sell in small batches so I shan’t f*ck things up.

New print run is all printed up and ready for packaging. The product looks awesome, I may have actually found a printer I like. Elvis be praised. Now to finish getting the new shop settings set up (I added all the other countries so now ANYONE can order cards) and we be jammin’!
